Telomerase Activity in Adipose-Derived Stem Cells (ADSCs):

Adipose-derived stem cells (ADSCs) exhibit notable telomerase activity, which

contributes to their regenerative capacity and survival after implantation. This activity is

crucial for maintaining telomere length, allowing ADSCs to proliferate extensively and

differentiate into various cell types[1][4][6].

Comparison with Umbilical-Derived Stem Cells (USCs):

In contrast, umbilical-derived stem cells generally show lower telomerase activity. This

reduced activity may limit their proliferation and differentiation potential compared to

ADSCs[2][3]. The higher telomerase activity in ADSCs supports their enhanced survival

and ability to replicate and differentiate into multiple stem cell types, making them a

valuable resource for regenerative medicine[5][8].
